- Each generation has its own distinct characteristics, so how did the people born before 1984 learn how to use technology?
- If teachers are not properly taught how to use technology, how are they suppose to be an effective teacher?

I think for teachers to properly integrate TPACK, we should have real life presentations. If someone could come in and show us all the ways to use this, it would increase the impact it has on the students. This way teachers could collaborate together and have help that they recognize. If the teachers are engaged and knowledgeable with what they are doing, this could be how we keep teachers in the classroom. Having them feel comfortable with what they are introducing, this leaves more time for other important things like writing papers and teaching kids how to actually interact with humans face to face instead of threw technology.

I do not think students will become more dependent on technology than pencil and paper, but I do believe they will relate to the technology more. Nowadays, everyone is surrounded by technology especially children, so I can see why they become so attached to it. I hope student-teacher interaction remains the same, because our textbooks always talk about how important we are and how we can boost self-esteem or decrease self-esteem, so if we are so important (of course I agree we are important) then our interactions should remain the same, for the sake of the students.
ReplyDeleteI think the that as teachers we learn to integrate tpack skills by observation of other teachers and by example. I have the same question as to how teachers that have been teaching before technology are supposed to continue to expand their knowledge in a field they are no longer familiar with. This world we live in now is an ever expanding, ever evolving world and the only way we as HUMANS can keep up is to try our best and practice.
